Slow down and draw with us this summer.
Our Figure Drawing Evenings are part of the Studio Club: Slow Summer series—intimate, relaxed gatherings designed to nourish creativity, presence, and connection. Each session features a live nude model, guided instruction, and a structured flow of warmups and longer poses to support artists of all levels—from first-timers to seasoned sketchers looking to loosen up or reconnect with their practice.
Class Format:
We begin with a light warm-up and instructor-led intro to gesture drawing. The first hour focuses on short poses to sharpen observation and line confidence:
• 30-second and 1-minute quick sketches
• 5- and 10-minute poses to explore structure and rhythm
The second hour shifts into longer studies with breaks between:
• Two 20-minute long poses with time to refine technique, explore shadows, or experiment with new tools
• A short wine/model break to reset and connect
Expect a cozy, inspiring setting with soft lighting, ambient music, and thoughtful pacing. Your ticket includes a glass of wine, complimentary drawing materials (newsprint, charcoal, pencils), and access to our open studio starting at 6PM if you’d like to arrive early and settle in. Feel free to bring your own sketchbook or favorite tools.
What You’ll Walk Away With:
– A series of figure studies to take home or build on
– Improved confidence in gesture, form, and proportion
– A deeper understanding of the human body in motion and stillness
– A refreshed sense of presence, creative flow, and connection with others in the room
